This summer was dominated by Deadpool, Wolverine, and teenage drama, but the fall movie lineup is full of fantastic new stories and characters.
The chaos continues with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the mischievous Beetlejuice, back on the big screen after over 35 years. Tom Hardy is set to frighten once more as the antihero Venom, and slasher fans can look forward to the return of Art the Clown in his third installment of “Terrifier.” Additionally, Joaquin Phoenix is back as the iconic Joker, this time sharing the screen with Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in a highly awaited sequel. This upcoming two-month period promises a variety of sequels and Oscar-worthy films, including heartwarming dramas featuring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, as well as an air thriller where Mark Wahlberg plays a malevolent pilot.

‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ (Sept. 6)
Tim Burton is back with his unique vision of the afterlife, featuring Keaton once again as the chaotic Beetlejuice. This time, Lydia Deetz’s estranged teenage daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega), is pulled into the eerie world of ghosts and sandworms, prompting a reluctant enlistment of Beetlejuice by Lydia (Winona Ryder).
‘My Old Ass’ (Sept. 13)
This coming-of-age comedy features Maisy Stella as Elliott, a teenager who experiences a mushroom trip on her 18th birthday and encounters her 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). The older version aims to share valuable life advice about prioritizing family and steering clear of certain romantic interests.

‘A Different Man’ (Sept. 20)
This dark comedy follows Edward (Sebastian Stan), an aspiring actor dealing with neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition that results in facial tumors. After undergoing an experimental surgery to achieve his ideal appearance, Edward struggles with jealousy towards an actor (Adam Pearson) portraying him in a stage production based on his past life.
‘Never Let Go’ (Sept. 20)
In the survival horror film “Never Let Go,” Halle Berry plays a determined mother trying to protect her two sons while hiding in a remote woodland cabin. They seek refuge from an evil force that has begun to infect the world and can impersonate the faces of lost loved ones. Their sealed-off existence is disrupted when one child starts to doubt everything they know.
‘Transformers One’ (Sept. 20)
This animated film narrates the beginnings of the legendary battle between Optimus Prime (voiced by Chris Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry). Once best friends and Energon miners on their home planet of Cybertron, they set out on a grand adventure to locate the mythical Matrix of Leadership, which ultimately challenges their friendship.
‘Megalopolis’ (Sept. 27)
In his grand vision, director Francis Ford Coppola captures a modern America, where the city of New Rome must undergo transformation. Adam Driver plays a progressive architect intent on shaping its future, while Giancarlo Esposito portrays the corrupt mayor aiming to thwart him. Nathalie Emmanuel is the woman caught between her artistic partner and her political father.
‘The Wild Robot’ (Sept. 27)
A shipwreck leaves a robot, Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o), stranded on an animal-populated island, which is outside her customary programming. She unexpectedly becomes a caregiver to an orphaned gosling and takes on the role of protector for several animals, including a helpful fox named Fink (Pedro Pascal) in this touching tale.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ (Oct. 4)
This sequel to Todd Phillips’ acclaimed 2019 crime drama unfolds as a darkly imaginative musical. It brings back Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Oscar for his role as Arthur Fleck, a struggling comedian and murderer. Now behind bars, Arthur anticipates his high-stakes trial for a series of murders while finding love with his biggest admirer, Lee Quinzel (Lady Gaga).
‘Piece By Piece’ (Oct. 11)
This animated documentary brings together pop music and a “Lego Movie” aesthetic to narrate the life and career of Pharrell Williams, using Lego figures. The film highlights the Grammy-winning artist’s musical journey, featuring appearances from his collaborators like Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake.
‘Terrifier 3’ (Oct. 11)
This holiday season is marked not by the usual peppermint mochas, but by the return of the infamous slasher villain Art the Clown in “Terrifier 3.” In this third installment of the gruesomely popular franchise, the deranged clown is back to terrorize the people of Miles County, including a heroine (Lauren LaVera) who is still haunted by her past traumatic encounter with him.
‘We Live in Time’ (Oct. 11)
In this romantic drama directed by John Crowley (“Brooklyn”), a talented chef (Florence Pugh) accidentally collides with a man (Andrew Garfield) who is going through a divorce. Their unexpected encounter evolves into a relationship that stretches over ten years, as they face love, parenthood, and a daunting illness that threatens their time together.
‘Anora’ (Oct. 18)
Sean Baker directs the dramedy “Anora,” which won the prestigious Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film reimagines the “Pretty Woman” story. The lead character, played by Mikey Madison, is a dancer in New York who falls for Vanya (Mark Eidelshtein), the son of a Russian oligarch. Their impulsive elopement prompts chaos as his family intervenes to annul the marriage.
‘Flight Risk’ (Oct. 18)
Directed by Mel Gibson, this gripping thriller stars Michelle Dockery as an air marshal on a plane carrying a key witness (Topher Grace) who is set to testify against a crime family in New York. As they fly over Alaska, their journey turns perilous when the friendly pilot (Mark Wahlberg) is revealed to be a contract killer.
‘Smile 2’ (Oct. 18)
This sequel to the unexpected horror hit “Smile” features pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott). As she prepares for her world tour, she becomes increasingly troubled by eerie fans and friends with unsettling smiles, leading to terrifying encounters as she confronts her haunted past.
‘Venom: The Last Dance’ (Oct. 25)
In the final installment of the comic book trilogy, Tom Hardy reprises his roles as Eddie Brock and his chaotic alien partner Venom. As Venom faces threats from enemies in his own dimension, Eddie must confront human adversaries, and together, these two unlikely friends must unite to protect each other.
