A Young Swiftie’s Dream Come True: Scoring Taylor Swift’s Iconic ’22’ Hat at the Eras Tour

How an 8-Year-Old Fan Scored Taylor Swift’s ’22’ Hat at the Eras Tour

Francesca von Boeselager, age 8, became part of the elite “22” hat club after Taylor Swift personally gave her the prized item during one of the Eras Tour concerts in London.

“It was my dream,” she excitedly shared during a Zoom interview. The cheerful girl attended the seventh concert at Wembley Stadium with her 10-year-old sister, Antonia, and their mother, Claudia. They had great seats near the stage, just one row back. While Francesca was dancing to a song from the “Fearless” era, a member of Swift’s team spotted her.

“A lady came over and started singing the song to me,” Francesca recalls. The chances of being noticed like this among 92,000 concertgoers are incredibly slim. Without any scheduled meet-and-greets, this encounter was a rare moment for a fan to interact with Swift.

Claudia, who joined the Zoom call, added: “She simply asked, ‘Do you want to come with me?’ Then one of the security guards offered to film it for us. I gave him my phone and thought to myself, ‘Did I just hand my child and my phone to strangers?'”

Claudia and Antonia watched as Francesca made her way to the end of the catwalk.

“We’re heading to this gate,” Francesca explained.

As Swift appeared during the “Red” segment, she wore a tee that read “A lot going on at the moment,” which resonated with Francesca.

“She started skipping towards me,” Francesca described. “I handed her a bracelet, and she gave me the hat in return.”

When the tour concludes in December, only 149 lucky fans will be the proud owners of a black fedora crafted by milliner Gladys Tamez. Swift signed it with “Taylor” in gold Sharpie and also wrote “Wembley” and “Eras Tour 2024” on the brim.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Claudia remarked, recalling the moment her daughter’s face appeared on the big screen when Swift hugged her. “I’ve never felt such overwhelming happiness before, just the pure magic of it. As a parent, you always wish for your child to have a special moment like that out of 92,000 people.”

Claudia suggested framing the “22” hat alongside a picture of Swift embracing her daughter.

“I’m going to cherish this forever because it’s such an incredible experience,” the young girl giggled.

Swift is currently taking a break from the Eras Tour, resuming on October 18 for three shows in Miami.
