Andy Reid Shares Unique Parenting Tips with Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently provided some intriguing parenting advice to his star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

On Sunday, Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye Mahomes. She joins their two older children: three-year-old Sterling Skye and two-year-old Patrick Lavon III, affectionately called “Bronze.” The timing of the birth was ideal for the family, as the Chiefs, having clinched the top seed in the AFC and secured a bye during the wild card round, allowed Mahomes to focus on family without the stress of an upcoming game. Nevertheless, he made it a point to catch some games over the weekend.

As the Chiefs prepare to face the Houston Texans in the divisional round, Reid was asked how Mahomes balances fatherhood with being a leading quarterback. While Reid acknowledged that Mahomes is doing an excellent job, he also offered some unconventional parenting advice.

“I told him that once you have three, having four or five is a piece of cake. You’ve got three now, so why not add a couple more?” Reid commented.

Although it may seem a bit strange for Reid to encourage Mahomes to have a larger family, Reid himself has experience with raising five children.

However, Mahomes appears to be content with his current family size for the time being. He stated, “I’m good with three for now.”

“We’ll see what the future holds, but I always aimed for three,” Mahomes continued. “For now, we’ll stick with that and revisit the idea of adding another later.”

On a related note, Mahomes is eager to expand his collection of Super Bowl rings. As the season progresses, he and the Chiefs hope to achieve the remarkable feat of becoming the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls in the modern era.
