Barack Obama reveals his favorites for 2024: Sally Rooney, ‘Dune: Part Two’ included
Barack Obama is sharing his top picks for 2024.
The former U.S. President Barack Obama announced his annual round-up of cultural favorites on Friday.
“I enjoy sharing my yearly list of favorite reads, films, and songs,” Obama expressed in a post on Instagram.
This year’s book highlights include the much-discussed new novel by Sally Rooney, the Booker Prize-winning “Orbital” by Samantha Harvey, and “The Anxious Generation,” a look into how smartphones and social media affect young people’s mental health. The ten books he selected “have stayed with me long after I turned the last page,” he shared on Instagram.
Among Obama’s top movie choices are the hit sci-fi sequel “Dune: Part Two,” featuring Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet, the coming-of-age comedy “Dìdi 弟弟,” and the Sundance documentary “Sugarcane,” which recently made the Oscars shortlist for best documentary feature.
