A Look at the Wealth of Billionaires at Trump’s Second Inauguration
At President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on Monday, some of the wealthiest individuals in the world were present to observe as he took the oath of office.
Among those receiving VIP seating next to top government officials and Trump’s family were prominent tech moguls who are considered allies of the president. The ceremony, held in the Capitol rotunda, featured Amazon Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew all seated in front of the new Cabinet.
Their attendance highlights not only the business-friendly approach of the incoming administration but also the significant potential influence these rich tech leaders might wield over U.S. policy decisions.
Jeff Bezos’ Net Worth
Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez were also present at the private indoor ceremony. As the second richest person globally, Bezos holds a net worth of $245 billion, based on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Net Worth
Zuckerberg attended the inauguration alongside his wife, Priscilla Chan. With a net worth of $217 billion, the creator of the largest social media platform ranks as the third richest individual in the United States.
Reports indicate that Zuckerberg had a meeting with Trump following his victory in the 2024 election. Earlier this month, he further solidified his relationship with Trump by appointing vocal Trump supporter Dana White to Meta’s board, among other business decisions that align with the principles of the MAGA movement.
Elon Musk’s Net Worth
Holding the title of the world’s richest person, Musk’s net worth is $449 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He was seen cheering for Trump alongside Zuckerberg and Bezos during the inaugural speech.
Musk has been notably active throughout the inauguration weekend. During a rally on inauguration day, he expressed, “We’re excited about making numerous changes. What’s important moving forward is to implement meaningful changes, establish those changes, and lay the groundwork for America to be resilient for centuries—perhaps even forever.”
As Musk grows closer to Trump, he has also been appointed to co-lead the Department of Governmental Efficiency, an advisory group aimed at reducing the federal budget, which supports federal employees as well as programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ benefits.
