Boar’s Head listeria outbreak officially over as the company settles class action lawsuit
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has officially declared the listeria outbreak linked to Boar’s Head deli meats as “over.”
According to Martin Bucknavage, a senior food safety extension associate at Penn State’s Department of Food Science, it is currently “likely the safest time to purchase Boar’s Head products.”
He explained, “For starters, they have closed the facility that had issues. Additionally, a company that has faced such a problem tends to be extra vigilant, thoroughly checking and re-checking their systems to ensure their products are safe. The USDA is also closely monitoring the situation to confirm that the Boar’s Head products being produced are secure,” as he shared with YSL News.
