Brothers Rescue a Shivering Deer from Freezing Water in Michigan: Watch the Video
A family in Michigan recently saved a deer trapped in freezing water, as captured in a video.
This heroic incident took place last Friday in Cedarville Bay, situated in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, as reported.
Brothers Jeff and Greg Lipple spent several hours attempting to rescue the trembling deer that was adrift in the icy waters. Jeff tried using a rope and ladder, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
“She came close to me but wouldn’t let me put anything over her head or touch her,” Jeff explained in a video shared by Island View Resort on Facebook. “I tried putting the ladder in the water, hoping she would find her way out, but she didn’t.”
The brothers managed to pull the deer out, only for it to fall through the ice again
To get closer, Greg used a kayak to corner the deer by the shoreline while Jeff employed the rope to pull the animal out of the water.
After managing to free the deer, the brothers celebrated as it cautiously navigated across the slippery ice toward safety. But moments later, it fell through the ice again.
“This time, she fell into a small hole, which made it easier to approach her, secure her with the rope, and pull her back out,” Jeff added.
The deer then gracefully trotted into the nearby woods: “A bit wobbly but a sweet sight,” he remarked.
