Caitlin Clark’s Scoring Surge and A’ja Wilson’s Record-Breaking Performance Lead Aces to Victory

What was Caitlin Clark’s score today? Fever lose to record-setting A’ja Wilson and the Aces

Caitlin Clark scored 16 points in a disappointing effort, as the Indiana Fever fell with a score of 86-75 against the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday in Indianapolis. Despite being a leading candidate for Rookie of the Year, Clark couldn’t steer her team to victory.

The two teams will face each other again on Friday.

In addition to her points, Clark provided six assists and collected three rebounds; however, she struggled with her shooting, making only 6 out of 22 attempts and 1 out of 10 from beyond the arc—one of her least effective performances this season.

Kelsey Mitchell was the standout for Indiana, leading the scoring with 24 points.

Clark and the Fever have been performing well recently; prior to this game, Clark had averaged 25 points over the last 10 matches. The Fever have already clinched a playoff berth, marking their first since 2016.

A’ja Wilson, a strong contender for MVP, topped the Aces with an impressive 27 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.

Notably, Wilson set a new WNBA single-season scoring record late in the first half with a 15-foot jump shot. She currently has 956 points this season, surpassing Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 939 points from last year with five regular-season games remaining.
