The Week 2 matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders was paused temporarily when a member of the NFL’s chain gang experienced a medical emergency on the sideline.

Players and coaches from both teams knelt on the field during the incident. Eventually, the employee was placed on a stretcher and transported off the field. He showed some movement in his arms and hands as he was taken away.

Shortly after he was removed, the Ravens gave an update on the chain gang worker’s condition. The team shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the individual was “awake and responsive” when he left the field and had been taken to a nearby hospital.

The incident did not significantly delay the Ravens vs. Raiders game. Play resumed approximately six minutes after the pause, with Lamar Jackson attempting a deep throw to Nelson Agholor, which was deflected by Raiders cornerback Jakorian Bennett.
