Could Kamala Harris Pose a Real Threat to Trump’s MAGA Supporters?

Opinion: MAGA supporters might need to consider a potential Harris victory

Currently, the performance of the two candidates suggests that Harris has a distinct edge.

Amid the predictions from pollsters and analysts, as well as the ceaseless chatter from social media armchair forecasters, it’s nearly impossible to determine how next month’s presidential election will unfold.

Yet, the prevailing sentiment from commentators on both sides is: Liberals should prepare for the possibility of Donald Trump securing another victory.

This viewpoint holds some truth. There is undoubtedly a chance for Trump’s success, and even if the odds suggested otherwise, many on the left remain haunted by his unexpected 2016 win and struggle to feel confident about a potential loss this time.

MAGA supporters might need to face the possibility of a Trump loss

Conversely, what about the fervent MAGA supporters who live and breathe Trump? The ones who proudly don Trump hats, attend his rallies, and believe he can do no wrong?

They ought to start to consider something that remains largely unspoken: Kamala Harris could actually win this election.

Indeed, I just stated what many liberals are hesitant to admit.

This isn’t a prediction, but it is every bit as plausible as claiming Trump might secure another term.

While liberals are bracing for a Trump win, shouldn’t MAGA supporters prepare for a potential Harris victory?

No prominent voices on Fox News or in conservative circles are preparing Trump fans for the chance of a loss. This is perhaps understandable, given that many still cling to the unrealistic belief that Trump won in 2020.

Nevertheless, if the MAGA community wants to prevent a repeat of the January 6, 2021, events – along with the subsequent legal repercussions – they ought to start mentally preparing for a potential Kamala Harris presidency.

Prior to President Biden’s announcement of stepping back, around the time of the Republican National Convention, Trump’s campaign seemed assured, with polls trending in his favor following Biden’s poor debate performance.

However, it’s clear that this sense of certainty has not persisted. While polls often lack reliability, Harris’s standing mirrors Trump’s advantage in polls during discussions of a potential Trump sweep.

Trump’s campaign has just suffered another shaky week

It’s difficult to ignore the performance discrepancies between the candidates right now, indicating that Harris may have the upper hand.

Here are some recent troubling incidents for Trump:

On Monday evening in Pennsylvania, Trump was scheduled to engage in a Q&A but instead spent about 40 minutes on stage, somewhat awkwardly moving to a series of songs played from speakers. It was a bizarre moment that raised questions about his mental fitness.

On Tuesday, Trump insulted autoworkers during an interview at the Economic Club of Chicago, suggesting that even children could perform their jobs.

During that town hall, which was broadcast the following day, Trump made fun of the family of a young Georgian woman whose death is linked to the state’s harsh abortion law.

Trump’s ‘day of love’ comment about Jan. 6? Seriously?

On Wednesday, he hosted a town hall with Latino voters on Univision. A standout moment occurred when Trump told a participant that the assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “a day of love,” which left the man visibly shocked and disbelieving, causing the moment to go viral.

On Thursday evening, he attended the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York City, a Catholic charity event. According to The New York Times, “He made crude jokes about adultery and menstruation and cursed while just feet away from a cardinal. He praised Rush Limbaugh, mentioned ‘the China Virus’ and the ‘Democrat party,’ and emphasized Barack Obama’s middle name (Hussein).”

On Friday, Trump appeared on Fox News, where he stated that if he were to be president again, he would eliminate the Department of Education and cut off federal funds to any school districts with a curriculum he disagrees with.

Is Trump too ‘exhausted’ for interviews?

As the week ended, reports surfaced about Trump canceling several planned interviews and refusing another debate with Harris. Reportedly, his team claimed he was too exhausted, providing Harris with an opportunity to point out his age: 78.

“I’ve been hearing that his team is saying he’s feeling exhausted,” Harris remarked on Friday. “That appears to be their explanation for his lack of interviews and refusal to do the CNN town hall or another debate. … Being president of the United States is one of the most challenging jobs globally, so we must consider whether he is truly up for the demands of the campaign trail.”

Trump’s increasingly divisive and disorganized speech contrasts sharply with the clear and positive campaign Harris is running. She is gathering large, enthusiastic audiences while showcasing prominent Republicans who support her.

Harris managed to navigate a highly confrontational interview with Fox News host Bret Baier on Wednesday, demonstrating her commitment to engaging with those beyond her traditional Democratic base.

This election is unpredictable; both parties should prepare.

Does this indicate that Harris will clinch victory? Not necessarily. It suggests she might win, and many would favor her position over Trump’s in this race.

To everyone in the MAGA community, we have often heard that “Trump might win the presidency.” This serves as a reminder for us to stay vigilant. Now, it is crucial for you to consider the reverse possibility: Harris could win the presidency.

This isn’t just overconfidence; it’s a reality that could unfold.
