Footage captures easyJet passengers fleeing plane as vape explosion fills cabin with smoke
Recently, travelers on a flight heading to the UK had to make an emergency evacuation from their aircraft after a vape seemingly exploded inside a passenger’s carry-on bag.
Malachi Griffith provided video evidence showing the alarming moment when smoke filled the cabin of the easyJet flight, resulting in chaos as passengers at an airport in Greece rushed to exit the plane.
This British low-cost airline operates primarily out of London, as noted on its website.
‘Loud popping sounds and smoke filled the cabin’
Flight EZY8261 was preparing to leave from Heraklion, Crete, a port city on a Greek island, to London Gatwick Airport on a Tuesday afternoon when “loud popping sounds and smoke filled the cabin,” as reported by The Independent.
Video showed individuals retrieving their belongings from the overhead compartments, some heading towards emergency exits in a bid to leave the aircraft.
In the footage, smoke can be seen swirling around them.
All 236 people on board were evacuated through the emergency slides onto the tarmac “within moments,” according to the report.

Fortunately, there were no injuries among those evacuated.
