Greg Gutfeld Returns to Fox News After Welcoming Daughter at 60: ‘It’s a Challenge’
Fox News anchor Greg Gutfeld is back on the air. Or more accurately, in his favorite armchair.
Following an unplanned paternity leave, Gutfeld returned to the screen on Monday night, delivering a comedic monologue sprinkled with heartfelt reflections about becoming a parent.
At 60 years old, Gutfeld and his wife, Elena Moussa, 42, welcomed their daughter Mira in early December. His cohosts celebrated her arrival on a segment aired on December 10.
“When my wife first shared the news of her pregnancy, I was the first one to change a diaper,” Gutfeld quipped, infusing his usual humor with his characteristic critique of liberalism.
“It’s a tough journey, but it’s not the end of the world,” Gutfeld commented on fatherhood, adding, “I realized just how much I need to unlearn, especially since I’ve become quite adept at self-centeredness over the years.”
Though Gutfeld acknowledged that his selfish tendencies benefited his career, he recognized that having a child at this stage in life has taught him something others might have grasped sooner: “You have to put someone else first.”
Famous for his sarcastic and sometimes provocative style, Gutfeld is the host of “Gutfeld!” a widely watched late-night program. He is also a participant on “The Five,” which is the most popular show on Fox.
Gutfeld’s time away from the network began in early December without much explanation. Eventually, “The Five” co-host Dana Perino disclosed the reason, reading a statement on his behalf.
“With immense joy, my wife Elena and I announce the arrival of our baby girl. Mira is doing well and has a strong set of lungs. She has her mother’s lovely eyes and my defined abs,” Perino relayed. “We are working hard to teach her three languages and maintain a strong fitness routine. She’s astute and even asked if Jesse (Waters) sports a toupee. I assured her that he definitely wears a wig.’
Gutfeld married Moussa, a fashion stylist from Russia whom he met in Portugal, back in 2004, as per People magazine. They tied the knot less than a year after their initial meeting.
Mira is their first child together.
