Jay-Z is taking a stand against the lawyer representing the woman who has accused him of sexual assault anonymously, claiming the incident occurred in 2000.

In a letter sent to the judge in charge of the case on Tuesday, Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro raised concerns about the reliability of Tony Buzbee’s law firm from Houston. He asserts that Buzbee and his team previously pressured a client to implicate Sean “Diddy” Combs in their accusations.

Diddy, currently in custody awaiting his trial related to federal sex crime and racketeering charges, continues to assert his innocence as he faces a growing number of civil lawsuits.

Mari Henderson, a lawyer at Spiro’s firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, submitted a statement indicating that she had a phone conversation on Monday with “a female adult resident of Texas,” who reported negative interactions with Buzbee’s law practice.

The anonymous caller reportedly shared with Henderson that despite labeling herself as “a victim of trafficking by celebrities with no ties to Mr. Combs (or Mr. Carter),” Buzbee allegedly pushed for a connection to Diddy.

This unnamed individual, according to Henderson, claimed she felt “directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee’s firm to assert that someone restrained her and administered drugs, despite that not being her actual experience. She felt coerced into lying.” Henderson noted that the woman was “dropped as a client” after refusing to alter her account.

Spiro contends that this assertion “provides further justification for Mr. Carter’s right to investigate, challenge, and address the baseless accusations he faces,” reinforcing Jay-Z’s demand that Buzbee’s client disclose her identity.

Responding to the allegations on Tuesday, Buzbee remarked to YSL News: “This allegation is completely absurd and unfounded.”

“If someone approaches our intake team with a legitimate case, we will follow through,” he explained. “Right now, we are involved in numerous cases against various individuals and entities, excluding Diddy. We refuse to take on cases we don’t find credible.”

Buzbee stated, “Without knowing the woman’s name, we cannot specifically comment on what she conveyed to our intake personnel, making it impossible to discuss her claims. The anonymity is indicative of this entire situation being farcical.”

He also denied the accusation that they had ever dropped a client for not pursuing claims against Combs.

“We neither pressure people nor require to. We’ve declined potential cases from individuals we deemed not credible,” he emphasized. “It’s important to note we receive numerous prank calls and inquiries from those who feel wronged but lack actionable cases. We certainly don’t need to ‘pressure’ anyone to move forward with a claim because we already have more cases than we can manage.”

“What we will not do is undertake a case that appears weak or baseless,” Buzbee asserted.

Furthermore, he labeled Jay-Z’s legal team as “desperate, shrill and seemingly out of control,” insinuating that their claims are an attempt to divert attention from serious allegations made by other clients.

“We will not let ourselves be sidetracked by such nonsense,” he declared. “And we refuse to be intimidated or allow our clients to be silenced.”

Conflict between Jay-Z and Tony Buzbee has intensified since November

In October, Buzbee declared that he would initiate civil lawsuits on behalf of over 100 alleged victims of “violent sexual assault or rape” by Diddy.

One woman filed a lawsuit anonymously in October, alleging Diddy raped her at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000 when she was only 13 years old. Recently, she updated her complaint to accuse Jay-Z of being the unnamed celebrity who also raped her.

In response, Jay-Z released a harsh statement denouncing the accusations as “heinous” and an “attempt at blackmail.” He confirmed his involvement as the unnamed “high-profile” person in the lawsuit.

A well-known male celebrity filed a lawsuit against Buzbee and his law firm in November, accusing them of “brazenly trying to extort large amounts of money from him” by threatening legal action.

Buzbee referred to the lawsuit as “baseless” and labeled it as a “hostile effort to intimidate or silence me, and by extension, my clients.”
