Jerry Jones Blasts Reporter over Sun Glare Inquiry Following Cowboys’ Defeat

Jerry Jones reacts angrily to inquiry about sunlight at AT&T Stadium following Cowboys’ defeat

Recently, Jerry Jones found himself in a media storm, and this time, it was about the sun.

How fitting.

After the Dallas Cowboys faced a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 34-6 on Sunday, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb mentioned that he missed a catch because the sunlight coming through the AT&T Stadium windows made it hard for him to see the ball.

When Lamb failed to catch a pass from quarterback Cooper Rush in the end zone, he suggested that the glare from the sun was to blame.

“Couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball at all,” Lamb explained to reporters. “The sun.”

Lamb expressed that he was “one thousand percent” in favor of installing curtains in the stadium—an idea that Jones quickly dismissed when asked about the chance of adding shades.

“Well, let’s just tear the damn stadium down and build a new one?” Jones replied sarcastically. “Are you serious?”

The position of the setting sun during late-afternoon games has been a challenge for teams in the past in Arlington, Texas. However, Jones maintained that the team is aware of how to handle the situation.

“By the way, we know where the sun will be when we decide to flip the coin,” Jones stated. “We are aware of where the darn sun is in our own stadium.”

“Every team that visits here faces the same challenges.”
