McDonald’s to redesign its coffee cups for the holiday season
This holiday season, McDonald’s plans to collaborate with a technology company to enhance your morning coffee experience.
The popular fast-food chain is teaming up with Doodles to create a festive campaign called “GM Spread Joy.” This initiative aims to refresh the morning coffee routine for a contemporary audience, as noted in their announcement.
McCafe cups across the country will feature beloved characters from Doodles, a forward-thinking entertainment firm that emphasizes immersive storytelling.
Doodles’ mission, according to their official site, is to “set the standard for immersive storytelling and infuse the world with joy.” They offer an interactive “transmedia storytelling platform” where users can create and personalize Doodle avatars, gather digital collectibles, engage with others, and access award-winning content based on their interactions.
Which characters will appear on the new cups?
The refreshed McCafe cups might showcase Hap and Mello, two close friends from the Doodles realm and the initial characters to have their adventures unveiled. Hap is a mad scientist with the traits of a golden retriever, while Mello is always there to assist with technical aspects when Hap encounters difficulties, according to Doodles.
Buying one of these cups unlocks various benefits for customers, such as surprise digital collectibles and wearable items, exclusive merchandise, and the campaign’s official song “Good Morning,” performed by Marley Bleu and produced by Pharrell Williams.
“This partnership combines McDonald’s coffee experience with Doodles’ whimsical animated features, offering fans a distinct mix of physical and digital interaction,” states the announcement.
