NBC announces Peacock broadcast team for NFL’s inaugural regular season game in Brazil

Following a successful debut covering Olympic basketball in Paris, NBC Sports has appointed play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle to cover the Week 1 game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil. This marks the NFL’s first regular season game in Brazil.

The matchup is set for Friday, September 6, and will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock.

Noah Eagle, who received a Sports Emmy this year for Outstanding Personality/Emerging On Air, will team up with his usual college football partner, analyst Todd Blackledge. Kaylee Hartung, a reporter for Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football,” will be the sideline reporter.

This is not Noah Eagle’s debut in NFL broadcasting; he was the lead play-by-play commentator for last season’s AFC wild-card game featuring the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans. Additionally, he called the memorable 2022 Indianapolis Colts versus Minnesota Vikings game on NFL Network, where the Vikings made an unprecedented comeback from a 33-0 deficit.

The Packers and Eagles game will be the first Friday matchup during the league’s opening weekend since 1970, and it is the second of four prime-time broadcasts that weekend on NBC and Peacock.

The NFL kicks off its regular season with a Thursday game on September 5, featuring the Baltimore Ravens against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in a rematch of the AFC Championship game.

After the NFL game, Eagle and Blackledge will return to their regular feature, “Big Ten Saturday Night,” on September 7, where Colorado will face Nebraska. A different commentary team will be assigned to that game, which will be announced next week.

The weekend will wrap up with a “Sunday Night Football” game showcasing the Los Angeles Rams against the Detroit Lions.
