Jurickson Profar Stops Mookie Betts’ Home Run at First Inning

In a thrilling moment during Game 2 of the National League Division Series, San Diego Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar made a spectacular catch in left field, preventing Mookie Betts from the Los Angeles Dodgers from tying the game.

 

Betts seemed poised to level the score with a home run in the bottom of the first inning, but Profar intervened.

He reached over the barrier and snagged the ball while it was in the hands of several enthusiastic fans. Initially, Profar seemed to underplay the significance of the catch, even tricking the Fox Sports 1 broadcast team, which mistakenly presented graphics suggesting that it was Betts’ first postseason home run.
