Shilo Sanders Receives Surgery on Forearm Injury
Shilo Sanders, a safety for Colorado, has had surgery to mend a forearm injury sustained during Saturday’s game against Nebraska, as confirmed by his father and the team’s coach, Deion Sanders.
On Monday, Deion Sanders shared photos of Shilo in the hospital on his social media. One image shows Deion alongside Shilo, who appears to be asleep in his hospital bed. Another picture features Deion with his other son, Deion Sanders Jr., standing behind Shilo, who is seen in a wheelchair with a sling on his right arm.
Deion wrote in the post’s caption, “God is Good! Can’t wait to see you back in action. Love ya son!”
The injury occurred in the first quarter during Colorado’s 28-10 defeat against Nebraska, leading to Shilo being unable to continue playing. After the game, Deion mentioned he was unsure about “the extent of the injury,” but indicated during the NBC halftime broadcast that it appeared to be “a broken forearm or something like that.”
Shilo managed to return to the sidelines in the fourth quarter while wearing a sling. It remains uncertain how long he will be out due to his forearm injury, which occurred while attempting to tackle Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell.
So far this season, Shilo Sanders has accumulated 11 tackles.
Last year, Shilo led the team in tackles and is now in his final year of college football after transferring to Colorado from Jackson State to play for his father.
