Sutton Foster, a renowned Broadway star and star of “Younger,” is set to end her marriage to screenwriter Ted Griffin just before their upcoming 10-year anniversary.

The 49-year-old actress filed for an uncontested divorce on Tuesday, as confirmed by records from the New York County Superior Court, according to YSL News. Foster and Griffin, 53, were married on October 25, 2014, and they have a 7-year-old daughter, Emily.

Representatives for both Foster and Griffin were contacted for comments by YSL News.

Foster, a two-time Tony Award winner, is wrapping up her role as Princess Winnifred the Woebegone in the Broadway show “Once Upon a Mattress.” Griffin is known for his work on “Ocean’s Eleven” and several episodes of the ABC show “9-1-1.”

In a 2014 interview with YSL News about her role in the Broadway musical “Violet,” which earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress, Foster shared how she connected with the character. The role involved a storyline about taking a Greyhound bus from North Carolina to Oklahoma to confront her past. At that time, Foster was engaged to Griffin.

“This is my second marriage, and I feel like I am stepping into a new phase of my adult life, with Violet’s journey resonating with me profoundly,” Foster stated. “She experiences deep shame and despair but encounters someone who values her for who she is beneath her flaws.”

“It’s a significant message since nobody is flawless, and we seek partners who can support us through whatever comes our way,” she continued. “I believe I’ve found that person with whom I want to travel through life. And that feels incredibly exciting.”
