Taco Bell Experimenting with New Menu Items: Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito and Aguas Refrescas Drink
Taco Bell is consistently exploring new culinary creations.
The fast food chain, known for its Mexican-inspired offerings, will begin testing new dishes starting Thursday. These include the Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Strawberry Passionfruit Aguas Refrescas in Charlotte, Ohio.
Directly from the newly introduced Cantina Chicken Menu, the burrito, priced at $5.99, features a unique Caliente Sauce made of a spicy blend of red pepper, red jalapeno pepper, and ghost chile pepper, according to the chain. This menu was launched nationwide in March as the chain seeks to cater to Americans’ preference for chicken, with options like burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and a Cantina Chicken Bowl.
Charlotte locals can enjoy the Strawberry Passionfruit Aguas Refrescas for $3.99. This refreshing 20-ounce green tea drink mixes strawberry passionfruit with dehydrated strawberry pieces. Previously, in April, the company started testing fruit-infused Aguas Refrescas at a location in Southern California, introducing flavors like Peach Mango and Dragonfruit Berry.
During its “Live Más Live” event in April, Taco Bell hinted at other new offerings, including Crispy Chicken Nuggets, Cheesy Street Chalupas, a Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco, and a Baja Blast pie.
Taco Bell Revives Cheez-It Crunchwrap with a New Twist
Taco Bell is reintroducing its Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, which had a brief launch in June, now including an extra-large Cheez-It cracker for added crunch.
The creation stemmed from a previous concept of a Cheez-It taco, with menu developers sharing that the Cheez-It Crunchwrap aims to unite the beloved item with the iconic cheesy cracker.
The chain will also provide a la carte Big Cheez-It, significantly larger than a typical Cheez-It, along with its Big Cheez-It Tostada, which includes beef, diced tomatoes, lettuce, shredded cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream.
Additionally, a Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Combo will be available, featuring a Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Nacho Fries, and a medium soft drink.
The prices for the Cheez-It items are as follows:
- Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme ($5.49)
- A la carte Big Cheez-It ($1.00)
- Big Cheez-It Tostada ($2.99)
- The Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Combo ($9.99)
Taco Bell Introduces Omar Apollo Hot Sauce
The restaurant has teamed up with Mexican-American singer Omar Apollo to launch the new Disha Hot hot sauce.
This sauce is based on the family recipe of the “Ivory” singer and includes toasted tomatillos, white vinegar, tomatoes, onions, peppers, lime juice, and a special family spice blend. Each sauce packet is priced at 20 cents.
“The Disha Hot Hot sauce draws inspiration from his family traditions and heritage, merging unique flavors and spices from Omar Apollo’s background,” the chain stated. “This sauce delivers a deep, smoky flavor perfected by Omar’s mother.”
Customers can buy the Disha Hot Discovery Box for $8.99.
This meal includes three sauce packets, a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, a Crunchy Taco, a Doritos Locos Taco, chips with nacho cheese, and a medium-sized fountain drink.
