Tekashi 6ix9ine Taken Into Custody for Suspected Parole Breach

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine arrested for alleged parole violation

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been taken into custody in New York after a judge instructed his arrest on Tuesday for purportedly breaking the terms of his parole.

The 28-year-old artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, was arrested under a warrant and subsequently appeared in a Manhattan federal court where claims were made that he had violated his supervised release conditions, as per an order from United States District Judge Paul A. Englemayer obtained by YSL News.

The allegations include claims that he missed and failed drug tests, and traveled to Las Vegas for a performance in September without the necessary prior approval, according to the Associated Press. Hernández has pleaded not guilty and will remain in custody for the next two weeks until his upcoming court date, as reported by the AP and Billboard.

The rapper’s next court appearance, which will serve as an evidentiary hearing, is planned for November 12.

YSL News has contacted Hernández’s attorney for a response.

The judge also referenced Hernández’s breach of a court order that required him to stay in the Dominican Republic following his arrest for domestic violence, according to the AP.

The “Gummo” rapper is currently on parole after spending two years in prison due to a racketeering charge in 2019, where he was implicated in a gang called the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. His sentence was reduced because he cooperated as a witness for the prosecutors in that case.

In 2020, Hernández completed the final four months of his sentence under home confinement due to concerns that the “Fefe” rapper, who suffers from asthma, would be at risk for COVID-19 if he remained in federal prison.
