Porsha Williams’ cousin and co-star Yolanda Favors passes away at 34: ‘Forever in our hearts’

Porsha Williams, known from “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” is mourning the loss of her cousin and fellow cast member from “Porsha’s Family Matters,” Yolanda Favors, who has died at the age of 34.

Williams shared the heartbreaking news through an Instagram post on Sunday, beginning with a quote by E.A. Bucchianeri: “So it’s true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love.”

Favors passed away on August 7, just a few weeks shy of her 35th birthday.

In her heartfelt tribute, Williams wrote: “Londie – you were our closest friend, our sister, our aunt, our cousin, and so much more. Your life was a true gift, your memory a cherished keepsake, and your love was boundless; we will miss you deeply.”

The cause of her death has not been disclosed, and YSL News is awaiting a response from Williams’ representatives.

“Porsha’s Family Matters” showcased Williams’ life as she navigated her unexpected engagement to Simon Guobadia, featuring her extended family actively involved in the storyline.

The spinoff series aired for one season, from late 2021 to early 2022.

Williams expressed gratitude, saying, “The love and positivity you brought into our lives were immeasurable, and we know your spirit will be with us every day as we deal with this immense loss. For that, we are forever thankful. Love you always, dear baby cousin.”

Earlier this year, Williams filed for divorce from Guobadia after 15 months of marriage. She is currently preparing to return to “RHOA” for its upcoming 16th season, alongside Phaedra Parks, Shamea Morton Mwangi, and Drew Sidora, as well as newcomers Brittany Eady, Angela Oakley, and Kelli Ferrell.

In her February divorce filing, Williams stated that she and Guobadia “are currently living apart” and requested that the court uphold their prenuptial agreement signed on November 17, 2022, just days before their wedding on November 22, 2022.

Williams and Guobadia publicly announced their relationship in May 2021, with Williams describing their bond as “beautiful”. Guobadia is the former husband of her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star, Falynn Pina, an issue Williams addressed in an Instagram post.

Williams acknowledged the complicated nature of their relationship but clarified that Guobadia’s divorce from Pina was resolved before they started dating.

“Our relationship started a month ago — yes, we are madly in love. It may seem fast, but we are living life to the fullest every single day,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and Guobadia. “Every morning and night, I choose happiness and focus on the positive, ignoring any negativity.”
