Whoopi Goldberg Criticizes Trump for Calling ‘View’ Hosts ‘Dumb’ Following Kamala Harris Appearance
Whoopi Goldberg is hitting back at former President Donald Trump, who labeled her “dirty” and referred to her “The View” co-hosts as “dumb.”
During the Thursday episode of “The View,” the five main hosts made a statement by walking out to “Dirrty” by Christina Aguilera, taking a jab at Trump, who criticized the show for the recent interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
“We walked out to ‘Dirrty’ by Christina Aguilera because it’s one of the terms that You-Know-Who used when referring to me, but he was talking about all of us at his rallies,” Goldberg remarked, often opting to call Trump “you-know-who” rather than using his name.
At a rally in Reading, Pennsylvania, Trump called the panelists of “The View” “really dumb.” He also reminisced about hiring Goldberg for a comedy event at one of his casinos, claiming her performance was “filthy, dirty” and “disgusting.” In addition, he alleged that she encouraged him to run for president.
The Oscar-nominated actress and “View” moderator took aim at Trump’s insults, noting that he had hired her “four times.”
“I was filthy, and I stand by that. I’ve always been filthy, and you knew that when you booked me,” Goldberg fired back. “I headlined, darling, at your casino, which I might have continued to perform at if you hadn’t run it into the ground. How silly are you? You hired me four times.”
Goldberg continued with a challenging tone, asking, “You didn’t consider what you were getting? How silly are you?”
“The View” co-host and legal analyst Sunny Hostin also chimed in humorously, expressing gratitude to the former president.
“Donald Trump, I want to thank you for spinning so many lies and committing so many alleged crimes, providing us with daily material. You make our jobs easier, and I’m grateful for that,” Hostin commented, even inviting Trump onto the show and saying she’d “even give you a mug, not to be confused with a mugshot.”
Hostin’s remarks alluded to the 34 felony charges Trump faces in New York. The show’s sole conservative voice and former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin also took a jab at Trump.
“He called you a loser, but remember, you’re an EGOT winner and he’s lost the last election and can’t own up to it,” Griffin pointed out, suggesting that Trump is “triggered by strong women.” Griffin left the Trump administration after January 6, citing concerns over his unfounded claims regarding the 2020 election results.
