Arch Manning’s College Debut Sparkles with First Touchdown Against CSU

Arch Manning scores his first college football touchdown for Texas in a rout against CSU

Arch Manning has made his mark in Texas football.

The No. 4 ranked Longhorns dominated Colorado State in their first game of the season, and Manning took over for starting quarterback Quinn Ewers in the third quarter. On his first drive, he achieved a milestone by throwing his first collegiate touchdown, completing a 5-yard pass to Silas Bolden after evading defenders.

This touchdown increased Texas’s lead to 45-0 with just 2:23 remaining in the third quarter. Earlier during the drive, Manning connected with Johntay Cook II for a notable 40-yard gain.

On his subsequent possession, Manning also dashed for a 1-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 52-0.

This redshirt freshman played in only two games last season, making his debut during the regular-season finale against Texas Tech. He comes from the renowned Manning football family, being the son of Cooper Manning, the grandson of Hall of Famer Archie Manning, and the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning.

Ewers completed 20 out of 27 passes for 260 yards, including three touchdowns and an interception before he left the game.
