Is Citibank’s app currently down? Users report issues and fraud notifications

On Wednesday, Citibank acknowledged that its app was having technical difficulties after numerous customers reported problems accessing their accounts and received fraud alerts.

According to Down Detector, which monitors service disruptions, many Citibank users began experiencing issues starting around 9 a.m. Eastern Time. The bank stated on X that they are “aware of the issue” and are “working to resolve it.”

Customers took to X to express that the bank’s mobile app was “down” and mentioned that they faced challenges contacting customer service. Several other users reported receiving fraud alerts from the bank.

In a statement provided to YSL News, Citibank said, “We are experiencing some technical issues with Citi’s mobile app experience, which we are working quickly to resolve. Customers can still log in at Citi.com or call the number listed on the back of their cards or on their monthly statements for assistance during this time.”

This is not the first time a major service disruption has occurred; last year, JPMorgan Chase faced a significant outage affecting their ATMs.
