Connecting with Colors: The Artist’s Journey of Adorning the Caesars Superdome with 140 Feet of Friendship Bracelets

Artist shares how he displayed 140-foot friendship bracelets at the Caesars Superdome

NEW ORLEANS — Taylor Swift is receiving a spectacular welcome at the Caesars Superdome as she prepares for three sold-out nights of the Eras Tour.

Outside the venue, there are four massive friendship bracelets that stretch an impressive 140 feet with the inscription “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour.” Each letter is inside a circle that measures seven feet in diameter.

Shawn Kolodny, a contemporary artist and sculptor behind this creative display, shared, “Last month, the Superdome’s marketing director contacted me.” He explained his process: “I crafted 3D models, sketched everything out, and figured out the appropriate sizes and scales for the stadium’s side. Once everything was designed, the Superdome shared it with Taylor’s team to ensure approval on colors and details, before moving to the fabrication stage.”

The large inflatable bracelets were shipped from abroad and arrived outside the stadium on Wednesday. Kolodny and his team worked through a learning process to attach the bracelets to the stadium walls by Thursday.

“This is my first time ever attaching something to a stadium,” Kolodny remarks. “It was definitely a learning experience.”

After securing the large inflatables, his team set up air blowers along the edges to keep the bracelets inflated and looking good. Kolodny, 53, plans to attend the more than three-hour show on Friday night with his fiancé, Jules Dudko. He’s eager to arrive early to see fans enjoy the beaded artwork.

“The best part for us,” he shares, “is watching people take photos and make unforgettable moments—getting that perfect Instagram shot and selfies. We really enjoy that part.”

Taylor Swift has three concerts in New Orleans on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before continuing her tour in Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver. The tour will conclude on December 8.
