Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will introduce a new family-oriented section next spring.
The park plans to enchant visitors with a rainforest ambiance, an upgraded drop tower featuring advanced sound and digital effects, an engaging water play area, and a multi-level climbing canopy, according to a recent press announcement.
Wild Oasis is a transformation of the former Treetop Trails area located in the Jungala section of the park.
“This truly brings the whole park back into the realm of play for all our guests, which is very exciting for us,” said Erick Elliott, the park’s Vice President of Design, Engineering & General Services, in an interview with YSL News.
Excitement for Everyone
This new area, along with the park’s latest family roller coaster, Phoenix Rising, which opened in July, reflects a renewed commitment to family-friendly entertainment at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
“Over the last five years, we have focused heavily on enhancing our thrill rides,” Elliott mentioned. “If you track back to Tigris in 2019, Iron Gwazi in 2022, and Serengeti Flyer in 2023, alongside Falcon’s Fury in 2014, we’ve added numerous extreme rides.”
He noted that annual pass holders and other visitors have been requesting additional attractions suitable for the entire family.
Parents and grandparents can accompany children through the realm’s multi-level climbing structure and enjoy new water play areas together in the Florida warmth. They can also experience a revamped drop tower that is designed to be milder than the park’s towering Falcon’s Fury, which reaches heights of 300 feet and speeds of 60 mph, while still providing excitement.
“Since Phoenix Rising has a height requirement of 42 inches, you’ll have children as young as six or seven enjoying that ride up to their grandparents,” Elliott explained. “Restoring Wild Oasis offers a similar opportunity.”
“We’re including some thrilling new features that will appeal to a wide range of ages,” Elliott added about the Wild Oasis experiences. “There will be various visuals, including monitors, lights, and laser elements, which will significantly alter the previous setup.”
Additional Features of Wild Oasis
<p“One significant aspect that often goes unnoticed about Busch Gardens Tampa is that it’s not only an exciting theme park but also a wonderful zoo,” Elliott noted.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is recognized as an Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited facility.
“We’re collaborating with the zoo to finalize which animals will inhabit this space. The area includes two expansive sections designed for housing and displaying animals for guests to enjoy,” Elliott explained.
The larger Jungala area currently features exhibits for orangutans and tigers.
