Elon Musk’s estranged daughter criticizes him on X’s competitor Threads
Vivian Jenna Wilson, the daughter of Elon Musk, founder of X, recently turned to Threads, a competing platform, to express her discontent with her father.
In a series of posts on the Meta platform, the 20-year-old transgender woman accused Musk of fabricating stories about her in various media outlets. She labeled him a habitual adulterer, referencing his background from “Apartheid South Africa.”
Wilson shared a snapshot of a conversation on X where Musk was commended for balancing work and family. The post included a video clip from a 2014 CBS Mornings episode featuring Musk, his ex-wife Talulah Riley, and their children. Musk had commented, “All 5 boys super happy.”
“It seems you’re attempting to reshape your public image as a ‘loving father,’ and I am not going to let that slide,” Wilson expressed. “Honestly, it’s pretty sad. Thank goodness you’re not good at it, or it would be more challenging for me.”
YSL News has contacted Musk’s representatives for a response.
Musk’s daughter accuses him of misgendering her
Wilson also asserted that Musk falsely claimed she was a brainwashed neo-Marxist and communist who was influenced to identify as transgender in high school, believing that “being wealthy is evil.”
“If you’re going to spread lies about me, why use such a foolish approach?” Wilson questioned. “It’s not just foolish, it’s desperate. The fact that anyone believed this, even for a moment, is astonishing. Also, choosing to misgender me is both glaringly obvious and genuinely sad.”
She also highlighted ongoing legal action accusing Musk’s businesses of discrimination and claimed he disregards climate change, despite being the head of an electric car company.
“You are not ‘saving the planet,'” Wilson commented. “You have single-handedly made me question how gullible humanity is, as people still choose to believe you for reasons I can’t comprehend.”
Wilson parodies Musk’s comments in TikTok video
On TikTok, Wilson humorously responded to an interview Musk had with psychologist and conservative figure Dr. Jordan Peterson last month. Utilizing a popular sound from the platform, she suggested that Musk’s remarks were insignificant to her.
“Me when the richest man on earth claimed I was dead on a podcast with Jordan Peterson,” she captioned the video.
During the interview, Musk referred to gender-affirming surgeries as “child mutilation and sterilization,” while discussing the medical procedures Wilson underwent during the COVID pandemic.
“I felt tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys,” Musk shared with Peterson in an interview for the Daily Wire, referring to Wilson using her birth name. “I hadn’t fully understood the situation, and with the confusion from COVID, I was led to believe that (Musk’s child) was at risk of suicide.”
The SpaceX CEO expressed concern about gender reassignment being performed on children “far below the age of consent” and supported Peterson’s view that those who advocate for this practice should face imprisonment.
“I was deceived into allowing this,” Musk stated. “I essentially lost my son. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason—the reason they use that term is that your son no longer exists.”
Gender-affirming care is a legitimate, scientifically-supported approach
Gender-affirming care is recognized as a legitimate medical practice that has proven beneficial for individuals navigating their gender identity. This care can involve a variety of treatments, including counseling, hormone therapy, and surgeries.
Experts argue that gender-affirming care should be treated like other medical topics, where treatment methods can be debated, but the necessity of such care should not be questioned.
“In every medical field, we continually enhance care, modify approaches, and develop research and guidelines,” explained Dr. Ximena Lopez, a pediatric endocrinologist in California. “Therefore, it should come as no surprise that this holds true for gender-related care.”
Transgender adults represent less than 2% of the U.S. population, but around 5% of young adults identify as transgender or nonbinary.
