Norwegian Luna: A New Cruise Ship Set to Launch in 2026
Guests of Norwegian Cruise Line will soon enjoy lunar-themed adventures—without leaving Earth.
The company has announced its upcoming ship, Norwegian Luna, which is set to launch in April 2026. This impressive vessel will join the Prima Plus Class.
“With inspiration drawn from the connection between the moon and the ocean tides, we’re thrilled to introduce Norwegian Luna to further enhance the experience alongside its sister ship, Norwegian Aqua,” stated David J. Herrera, president of the line, in a press release. “Norwegian Luna’s debut reaffirms our promise to offer guests even more enjoyable experiences—a brand-new ship featuring state-of-the-art offerings sailing to the gorgeous tropical locations of the Caribbean.”
Norwegian Luna’s Itinerary
This new ship, designed for 3,550 guests at double occupancy, will operate round-trip Caribbean cruises from Miami, Florida. It will start with two Western Caribbean itineraries that include stops at Roatan in Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico; and Norwegian’s private destination in Belize, Harvest Caye.
Following this, Luna will offer Eastern Caribbean cruises for the remainder of its inaugural season. Ports of call will include Tortola in the British Virgin Islands; Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands; and the company’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay.
Onboard Experiences
The lunar theme will be present from the moment guests board, highlighted by stunning hull art from street artist ELLE, entitled “La Luna.” This spectacular artwork stretches 1,056 feet and represents “a visual journey reflecting humanity’s intrinsic connection to celestial forces, linking human lives to the moon’s rhythms,” as stated by the cruise line.
Luna will also introduce popular features first seen on Aqua, including a unique waterslide and rollercoaster called the Aqua Slidecoaster, a Thai restaurant named Sukhothai, and the Glow Court, a digital sports arena that transforms into a nightclub at night.
Thrill-seekers can enjoy additional amenities like The Drop, a free-fall slide that drops guests ten stories; Cagney’s Steakhouse; the environmentally conscious Metropolitan Bar; the French bistro Le Bistro; the adults-only Vibe Beach Club, and much more.
Further details about the onboard experiences for Luna will be announced in the upcoming year, as noted in the release.
Pricing Details for Norwegian Luna
Ticket prices will depend on the sailing date, cabin type, and other variables, but current itineraries start at $1,394 per person based on double occupancy on Norwegian’s website.
This price covers numerous meals on board, as well as drinks like iced tea and regular coffee, among other amenities.
