Madonna surprises at Luar NYFW event with Offset on the runway and Ice Spice in the crowd
NEW YORK — A few months after Beyoncé stunned audiences by appearing at the Luar show, Madonna made waves by taking a front-row seat at the same fashion event on Tuesday.
The music legend arrived just before the show began at Rockefeller Plaza, creating a buzz among attendees who whispered, “Could that be Madonna?”
She donned a chic short-sleeved camel trench coat with powerful shoulders, paired with black latex gloves, large sunglasses, and thigh-high leather boots — not to mention an oversized Luar handbag. At one point, the 66-year-old singer nearly stumbled as she made her entrance, but quickly regained her balance before taking her seat.
The front row included a host of celebrities like Ice Spice, A$AP Ferg, Tinashe, Hari Nef, Coco Jones, and stars from “Real Housewives of Potomac” and “Real Housewives of New York,” among others.
Madonna completed her The Celebration Tour in April, sharing her near-fatal experience from the previous summer when she was hospitalized with a serious bacterial infection. “It’s a miracle I’m here,” she reflected during a December show, acknowledging her doubts about survival that summer.
Offset makes a splash on the NYFW runway
Madonna wasn’t the only star making an impact at the fashion event. Rapper Offset took to the runway, showcasing a striking black leather trench coat featuring the bold shoulders iconic to the Luar brand, complemented by black leather gloves and a durag. Despite almost losing his footing while stepping onto the runway, Offset maintained his composure and continued confidently.
Having recently concluded his first solo tour, Offset hinted to YSL News that he is busy creating something new. “I feel like I’m in a labyrinth; I have to keep moving,” he explained.
Also joining Offset was Daniel “Julez” Smith Jr., Solange Knowles’ son and Beyoncé’s nephew, celebrating his first NYFW appearance with an all-black ensemble consisting of a mock-neck sweater, straight-leg pants, and cowboy-style boots. As he walked the runway, A$AP Ferg cheered him on enthusiastically.
The collection designed by Raul Lopez reflects his “primal instincts” rooted in his New York upbringing, as noted in the show’s materials. Pieces adorned with leopard print and textured black designs symbolize the urban landscape. The Luar logo featured prominently on armbands and in various logo-centric sets, along with new “it bags” making their debut on the catwalk. The collection also introduced leather footwear, including clogs, oxford loafers, and kitten-heeled knee-high boots.
