Revolutionizing Food Preservation: How AI is Transforming Drying Techniques for Superior Quality and Efficiency

Food drying is a common process for preserving many types of food, including fruits and meat; however, drying can alter the food's quality and nutritional value. In recent years, researchers have developed precision techniques that use optical sensors and AI to facilitate more efficient drying. A new study discusses three emerging smart drying techniques, providing

Paige Bueckers of UConn Suffers Minor Knee Sprain, Set to Return in a Week

Paige Bueckers of UConn has a knee sprain but should miss only one week

UConn’s Paige Bueckers seems to have dodged a serious injury scare.

The Connecticut guard experienced a knee sprain, but thankfully, there was no significant damage, and she is not feeling any discomfort in her ankle, as reported by head coach Geno Auriemma on Tuesday. Bueckers will sit out UConn’s upcoming game against Xavier on Wednesday and is also likely unavailable for Saturday’s game against Georgetown; however, it seems she may only be out for that duration.

“We’re optimistic that she’ll be back in about a week,” Auriemma stated.

This brings relief to Huskies fans who were anxious after Bueckers went down during the game against Villanova on Sunday. In the late third quarter, Bueckers attempted to seize a loose ball while Villanova’s Jasmine Bascoe lunged for it, leading to Bueckers’ leg getting caught beneath Bascoe, causing her to fall awkwardly.

In apparent distress, Bueckers held her knee as she limped to the locker room but returned to the bench with ice on her knee later. Auriemma expressed cautious optimism following the game, suggesting that it was “not the worst case” scenario. Fortunately, his initial impression proved correct.

Auriemma also mentioned that Bueckers’ injury is similar to one suffered by fellow guard Azzi Fudd earlier this season, which caused Fudd to miss two weeks after a minor knee sprain.

Bueckers has a notable injury history during her time with the Huskies, having missed significant playing time in her sophomore season and sitting out the entire 2022-23 season due to an ACL tear suffered in the offseason.

She has been a key player for UConn in what may be her last season at Storrs, averaging a team-high of 19.9 points per game, along with 4.3 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
