The iconic Goodyear Blimp is set to mark its 100th anniversary in a remarkable fashion, embarking on a tour that includes over 100 stops across North America and Europe in 2025.

Goodyear revealed in a recent press release that the tour will commence at the 111th annual Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day.

“This event will also celebrate 70 years of aerial coverage, a concept introduced by the Goodyear Blimp over the stadium in 1955,” stated the release.

The official anniversary of the blimp falls on June 3, with festivities planned to continue all year long. Goodyear confirmed the tour will make stops in more than 100 cities across both North America and Europe.

Throughout the year, the blimp is expected to feature at various sports events, music festivals, and cultural gatherings. Additionally, special merchandise commemorating the Goodyear Blimp’s anniversary will be available for purchase.

How to win a flight on the Goodyear Blimp

As per Goodyear, only a tiny fraction—0.0006%—of Americans have ever had the chance to fly on this legendary blimp.

This number will increase slightly, as Goodyear is offering three fortunate individuals the opportunity to join this exclusive group by winning a flight on the blimp.

The contest is named “Buy for a Chance to Fly,” where each winning participant will receive a certificate for two to experience a flight on the famous blimp. Additionally, Goodyear includes a travel voucher worth $3,000 for travel and accommodations at one of its three U.S. airship bases.

“The Goodyear Blimp is a timeless symbol, representing both fond memories and forward-thinking for fans globally,” stated Mark Stewart, CEO and president of Goodyear, in a press release.

To enter the sweepstakes, participants must purchase Goodyear tires between January 1 and April 10, 2025.
