New Research Shows Plugged Wells and Decreased Injection Rates Diminish Induced Earthquake Occurrences in Oklahoma

Wastewater injection resulting from oil and gas production in Oklahoma caused a dramatic rise in seismic activity in the state between 2009 and 2015. Texas Takes the Lead in NCAA Re-Rank 1-134, Ohio State Follows Suit as Alabama Falls Behind

Texas claims the top spot as Alabama drops after defeat in college football’s NCAA Re-Rank 1-134

Alabama’s surprising defeat against Vanderbilt has pushed Texas to the forefront, surpassing Ohio State to take the No. 1 position in the YSL News Sports Re-Rank 1-134.

This marks the third different team to hold the No. 1 rank in as many weeks. Georgia maintained the top rank from the preseason until they lost to Alabama.

The Longhorns faced stiff competition for the top rank from the Buckeyes, who performed impressively in the latter half of their 35-7 victory over Iowa on Saturday. However, Texas edged ahead thanks to their stronger schedule, highlighted by a victory against Michigan in Week 2.

The shake-up in the rankings was largely influenced by a series of upsets that took place over the weekend. Alabama slid down to No. 9 after their loss to Vanderbilt, while Tennessee dropped four places to No. 8 following their defeat against Arkansas. Missouri fell to No. 24 after a heavy loss to Texas A&M, and Michigan landed at No. 25 after losing to Washington.

Prominent risers in the Power Four include No. 18 Indiana, No. 20 SMU, No. 28 Nebraska, No. 30 Arizona State, and No. 32 Syracuse. From the Group of Five, notable advances come from No. 16 Boise State, No. 23 Navy, No. 63 Sam Houston State, and No. 75 Louisiana-Monroe.
