Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s 1957 book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” narrates the tale of a grumpy green creature named the Grinch, who resides on a remote mountain near the jolly town of Whoville, known for its Christmas cheer. Despising Christmas, he devises a plan to steal the Whos’ holiday essentials including their dinner, decorations, and presents.

However, after a brief encounter with the sweet Cindy Lou Who and seeing the Whos come together to celebrate Christmas morning sans their belongings, the Grinch is touched by the Christmas spirit. His heart, which was “two sizes too small,” expands three times its size and he joins the Whos for their Christmas feast.

While there are many adaptations, including the popular 2000 live-action version starring Jim Carrey, the 1966 televised classic is the original. This holiday season, you can catch this animated classic both on cable and through streaming services.
