Mike Tyson slaps Jake Paul at weigh-in before Friday’s match: ‘It’s personal now’
The much-awaited match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is just a day away, and excitement sparked on Thursday when the fighters had a tense moment during their weigh-in.
During a live broadcast at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, both Tyson and Paul weighed in on Thursday. Paul tipped the scales at 227 pounds, while Tyson weighed 228.4 pounds. After Tyson completed his weigh-in, he walked over to Paul for one last face-off, leading to an unexpected altercation.
In a surprising move, Paul crawled towards Tyson, which seemed to provoke Tyson. He responded by slapping Paul across the face, prompting security to quickly intervene and separate the two. Paul, seemingly unfazed by the incident, blew kisses at Tyson and laughed it off.
“I hardly felt that,” Paul commented. “He’s really angry. He’s like an angry little elf. I thought that slap was kind of cute from Mike Tyson.”
Tyson stated that “the talking is over,” but Paul insisted that things have turned “personal now.”
The Tyson vs. Paul fight will be streamed exclusively on Netflix this Friday, with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
