Apple Watch Series 10: A bigger, brighter display – here’s what you need to know

Apple has stated that despite the watch featuring a larger and brighter display, it remains lighter and slimmer compared to the Apple Watch Series 9. It will be available in stores starting September 20 and is now available for preorder.

During Monday’s event, Apple announced the 10th iteration of the Apple Watch, highlighting a host of new features aimed at enhancing user experience.

Originally launched in 2015, the updated watch will sport a brighter, more expansive display, even larger than the current Apple Watch Ultra.

In an unexpected turn during the Glowtime event, the Apple Watch took center stage as the primary product reveal. With its launch scheduled for later this month, here’s what we know about the Apple Watch Series 10.

What’s new with the Apple Watch Series 10?

The Apple Watch Series 10 will feature a newly designed larger case and increased screen size.

Apple has created a new case size to accommodate this larger screen, reporting that the watch measures 9.7 mm in thickness. The company mentioned that this new model is 10% thinner and lighter than the Series 9.

The new OLED display is the largest used in an Apple Watch to date.

In addition to the updated screen, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that the watch will also feature sleep apnea monitoring, although this function is still awaiting FDA approval. Health features are a major focal point in the marketing of this new watch.

The redesigned speakers are smaller to extend battery life, according to Apple. For the first time, these speakers can be utilized for music and podcasts, rather than being restricted to speakerphone function for calls.

When will the new Apple Watch be available?

Preorders for the new watch will begin on Monday, followed by its in-store availability on September 20.

What will the new Apple Watch cost?

The new Apple Watch comes in two price points: the base model is priced at $399, while the model with GPS and cellular capabilities will cost $499.

What colors will the new Apple Watch come in?

Apple will offer the new watch in three classic colors: black, silver, and rose gold.

No new hardware updates were announced for the Apple Watch Ultra, but a sleek black finish was introduced, along with a new matching band and a Hermes-themed band and watch face.
