Ally Lewber announces split from James Kennedy following domestic violence arrest
Ally Lewber and James Kennedy have ended their relationship just one month after Kennedy, a star from “Vanderpump Rules,” was arrested on allegations of domestic violence.
Lewber shared the news of their breakup on her Instagram Stories Wednesday, coinciding with the announcement that Kennedy will not be prosecuted for the December 2024 incident.
“I’m relieved that prosecutors chose not to move forward with charges against James, as I never wanted that,” Lewber stated. “We had a disagreement outside his home about his drinking, but I wasn’t physically harmed. The way this situation has been reported has left me in shock and sadness.”
Kennedy was taken into custody on December 10, 2024, in Burbank, California, following police response to a report of a dispute between a man and a woman, which was later categorized as a ‘domestic incident.’ He was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and later released on bail, as reported by the Burbank police.
Though police did not identify Lewber during the incident, the couple was seen together at a Christmas party hosted by Kathy Hilton on the same night.
Despite their breakup, Lewber expressed her ongoing support for Kennedy, saying she will “always wish him well in his journey towards sobriety and healing.”
YSL News has contacted Kennedy’s representative for further information.
The breakup follows Kennedy’s attorney, Scott Leemon, revealing that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office has decided against pursuing charges.
“I appreciate their thorough and professional investigation into the situation involving my client,” Leemon said in a statement shared with YSL News. “Their careful review validated our position from the start – there was no basis for any charges against Mr. Kennedy.”
Leemon continued: “James is thankful to have this behind him and is eager to focus on his sobriety and continue his DJ career.”
YSL News has also reached out to the Burbank City Attorney’s Office for a statement.
Both Kennedy and Lewber were prominent figures in the Bravo reality series “Vanderpump Rules,” which centers around the staff of restaurants owned by Lisa Vanderpump, who is known from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” In November, it was revealed that the upcoming 12th season of the series will feature a completely new cast.
