Amari Cooper Catches Touchdown for Buffalo Bills in First Game After Trade
Amari Cooper made an immediate impact on the Buffalo Bills.
Just five days after his trade to the Bills, the five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver caught a 12-yard touchdown pass during Sunday’s match against the Tennessee Titans, marking his first catch with the team.
He secured the catch early in the third quarter, giving the Bills a 14-10 lead, their first advantage of the game. Cooper ended the match with four receptions totaling 66 yards, contributing to the Bills’ commanding 34-10 victory.
The Bills traded a third-round pick to bring Cooper onboard, as they aimed to strengthen their passing game, which struggled following the offseason trade of their main target, Stefon Diggs, to the Houston Texans.
Initially, it was uncertain if Cooper would participate in Week 7 against a Titans defense known for allowing the fewest passing yards in the NFL, particularly due to the quick turnaround after his acquisition.
“I really need to acclimate to the week, establish a routine, and continue learning the playbook. I just arrived here, you know?” Cooper explained last week. “So right now, I don’t have any realistic expectations until I’ve gone through the week.”
