‘Vanderpump Rules’ star DJ James Kennedy arrested on domestic violence charges
James Kennedy, known from “Vanderpump Rules,” has been taken into custody on charges of domestic violence.
On Thursday, local police issued a statement to YSL News revealing that Kennedy, whose full legal name is James Kennedy Georgiou, was arrested on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. in Burbank, California, after authorities were called to respond to a dispute between a man and a woman.
According to the police investigation, the incident was classified as domestic in nature, which led to the arrest of Mr. Georgiou. The DJ has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and was later released on bail, as reported by Burbank police. The charges will be reviewed by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, but Kennedy is known to be in a long-term relationship with Ally Lewber, who is also a cast member on “Pump Rules.” They attended a holiday party hosted by Kathy Hilton in collaboration with DirecTV on the same evening in Los Angeles.
YSL News has contacted representatives for Kennedy and Groot Hospitality, where he has a DJ residency. Both Bravo and NBCUniversal chose not to comment. It seems unlikely that Kennedy will make a return to Bravo in the near future, given his reputation for being hot-headed within the cast.
On November 26, the network announced that production for the 12th season of the reality show would proceed without Kennedy and feature an entirely new cast. Lisa Vanderpump will welcome a fresh group of SUR staff, who are just as intricately connected with one another as the former cast members.
The series, which first premiered in 2013, centers around the employees of Vanderpump’s restaurants in Los Angeles, having emerged from the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Kennedy became part of the show in its third season in 2015 as a friend of the original cast.
Last year, “Vanderpump Rules” gained attention due to a scandal known as “Scandoval,” when co-star Tom Sandoval’s infidelity with Rachel Leviss, a close friend of his then-girlfriend Ariana Madix, was exposed. Madix expressed her devastation, stating, “To say I have been devastated and broken is an understatement.”
Prior to this scandal, Leviss had been in a five-year engagement with Kennedy, which ended in December 2021.
The reality series received two Emmy nominations last year, which is a significant achievement for Bravo’s reality shows, especially for a season so filled with drama.
