Broncos WR Josh Reynolds receives treatment for minor injuries following shooting incident

Last week, Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting incident, with the team confirming the news in a statement on Thursday.

KUSA-TV, a local Denver station, reported that the 29-year-old Reynolds suffered gunshot wounds to his left arm and the back of his head during the early hours of October 18. The report, which references court records, states that Reynolds and two companions exited a strip club around 2:45 a.m., after which they were followed by two individuals in vehicles who allegedly opened fire.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting in Denver last Friday and is currently receiving treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos stated. “We will not make further comments out of respect for the ongoing legal proceedings.”

Reynolds, a veteran of eight seasons in the NFL, is currently on injured reserve due to a broken finger. According to the Denver Post, he has been present at the team’s training facility for rehabilitation work over the past couple of days.

The Denver Police have not disclosed the identities of Reynolds or the other shooting victims, but they have announced the identification of two suspects: Burr Charlesworth, 42, and Luis Mendoza, 35. The police indicated that the arrest records for these individuals are sealed due to the ongoing investigation regarding attempted murder.

Reynolds joined the Broncos on a two-year contract worth $9 million during the offseason after previously playing parts of three seasons with the Detroit Lions. He had recorded 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown prior to his injury.
