Kate Cassidy, who was dating Liam Payne, has spoken out following the singer’s tragic death.

On Friday, Kate Cassidy, a model and social media influencer, shared her sorrow on Instagram after the former One Direction star passed away on Wednesday after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“I am completely lost. The events of the last few days don’t seem real,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I hope you can respect my request for privacy as I process this.”

The former member of the British boy band, who was part of the iconic group, died at 31 after hotel security requested medical help for a guest who was “conscious” but “intoxicated by drugs and alcohol” in a call to authorities reported by Reuters on Thursday.

In her Instagram message, she continued: “Liam, my angel. You were everything to me. I loved you with all my heart, and that will never change. I will love you for eternity.”

With over 600,000 followers on Instagram, Cassidy went public about her relationship with the “Strip That Down” vocalist in 2022. She posted a snapshot of their first red carpet outing together at the British Fashion Awards in December that year and described it as an “amazing” experience, with Payne beaming at her.

In a TikTok video shared last month, Cassidy recounted how she first met the One Direction star. When she was 23 years old and working at a nightclub in Charleston, South Carolina, her manager informed her that “Liam Payne from One Direction is here, and you’re going to take care of him tonight.”

Having family in London, Cassidy mentioned to Payne that she often visited, and he expressed enthusiasm about being her “tour guide.” The next day, they enjoyed lunch, a bowling date, and even went on a ghost tour. Cassidy shared with her 850,000 TikTok followers that Payne ended up delaying his return to England by three days.

She added, “Everything happens for a reason. Don’t skip out on work to attend a party; you never know, it might lead you to meeting your future husband.”

Cassidy is not alone in her grief; Liam’s ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole, who he shares a 7-year-old son named Bear with, also expressed her heartbreak over his death in a moving Instagram post on Friday.

“As I navigate this devastating loss and deal with my own heartache at this incredibly painful time, I want to remind everyone that we have lost a real person,” she stated. “Liam was more than just a celebrity; he was a son, brother, uncle, dear friend, and a father to our son.”

“Bear will have to confront the painful reality of never seeing his father again. What troubles me most is the thought of Bear someday encountering the horrific reports and media scrutiny we’ve experienced over the past couple of days. It breaks my heart that I can’t shield him from that in the future,” continued Cole’s heartfelt message.

Cole and Payne met during his audition on the British version of “The X-Factor” in 2008 and seemingly got back together in 2015, shortly after One Direction announced their hiatus. They were in a relationship from 2016 until 2018, with their son born in March 2017. Each One Direction member has also expressed condolences in the wake of Payne’s death.
