Giants Trade Jordan Phillips to Cowboys in Uncommon Deal Among NFC East Opponents
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jordan Phillips faced tough competition for a spot on the New York Giants’ 53-man roster, especially as younger players continued to impress during training camp.
Now, Phillips is heading to the Cowboys.
In an unusual trade between rivals of the NFC East, the Giants are sending Phillips alongside a seventh-round draft selection in 2026 to the Dallas Cowboys. In return, they will receive a sixth-round draft pick in 2026, as confirmed by a source to NorthJersey.com, part of the YSL News Network.
Phillips, who will turn 32 next month, had signed a one-year deal with the Giants during the offseason. However, with so many players competing for limited spots, he faced a challenging situation with cuts approaching.
