Revolutionary Benchmarking Breakthrough Tackles the Toughest Quantum Challenges

Predicting the behavior of many interacting quantum particles is a complicated process but is key to harness quantum computing for real-world applications. Researchers have developed a method for comparing quantum algorithms and identifying which quantum problems are the hardest to solve. Peter Dinklage’s Punk Rock Adventures: The Story Behind His Iconic Scar

‘Game of Thrones’ star Peter Dinklage reveals scar from ‘kneed in head’ while in ’90s punk band

Peter Dinklage knows how to embrace the music scene.

The former “Game of Thrones” star shared his energetic side during a recent interview on “Hot Ones” when host Sean Evans inquired about a past injury he sustained while performing with a punk-funk-rap band named Whizzy.

Dinklage shared that he still bears a scar from an incident where he was “kneed in the head” during a show at the iconic CBGB music venue in New York City back in the early ’90s.

“Just try to define me, man,” the actor known for “Station Agent” remarked.

At 55 years old, Dinklage was all set to pursue the “starving artist” dream.

“Back in the day, I was determined not to be an actor, avoiding commercials and the likes. I wanted to do off-Broadway plays for no pay, and I sought to be part of a punk band,” he reflected.

The performances from his band were quite intense, according to Dinklage.

“We were basically a knock-off of the Beastie Boys, and we had a blast. It lasted a couple of years, and I ended up with this cool scar on my temple because head wounds tend to bleed a lot,” he shared. “During shows, I would end up throwing up and bleeding on the audience. It was a truly memorable experience if you were in attendance.”

Dinklage’s distaste for acting didn’t last, even though Evans noted he is nearing 100 acting credits now. He confessed that it took time for him to move past his anger towards the entertainment industry regarding its representation of people of short stature.

“For a long time, I was really angry,” Dinklage admitted. “I was aware of how the entertainment industry portrayed individuals like me, and I didn’t consider that to be real acting.”

Nonetheless, he added, “I surrounded myself with incredibly talented individuals. I couldn’t have done it alone. That’s one of the wonderful aspects of my profession—it’s all about collaboration.”
