Three people hurt in shooting at Little Rock mall, police report
On Friday afternoon, a shooting incident at a mall in Little Rock, Arkansas resulted in injuries to at least three individuals, according to police reports.
The event took place just before 1:45 PM local time at Park Plaza Mall, as confirmed by the Little Rock Police Department via social media. Authorities mentioned that the injuries sustained by all three victims were not life-threatening.
Mark Edwards, a spokesperson for the Little Rock Police, described the shooting as an “isolated incident,” according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
In a statement released on Friday, Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott indicated that two individuals were implicated in the shooting.
The police department has yet to respond to comments from YSL News.
“We will provide further updates once traffic conditions return to normal,” the department shared on Facebook.
Mayor denounces gun violence
Mayor Scott condemned the act of gun violence in a statement posted on X, expressing that “violence involving firearms, in any context, is intolerable.”
“The reckless and criminal behavior of two individuals today put the lives and safety of citizens and visitors at risk,” added Mayor Scott. “We extend our prayers to the victims and hope for their swift recovery.”
The mayor also expressed gratitude towards the police, first responders, mall security, and staff for their prompt actions in securing the safety of everyone present.
