Tragedy Strikes as Wrong-Way Collision Claims Life and Injures Two Children; Driver Allegedly Under Influence

 

 

One person killed, two children hurt in head-on collision; driver suspected of DWI: Reports


The incident occurred on the Eastex Freeway close to Aldine Bender Road in Houston.

A tragic accident in Houston, Texas resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to two children. This occurred when a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction crashed into the SUV she was driving, as reported by various news sources.

 

The crash took place early Sunday at approximately 3 a.m., with a pickup truck moving south on the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway colliding with a northbound SUV, according to news outlets Fox 26 and KHOU.

The SUV driver, a woman, was declared dead at the scene.

The two injured children, ages 6 and 14, were passengers in the pickup truck at the time of the crash and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The pickup truck driver sustained a broken leg, with authorities suspecting they may have been under the influence while driving, as reported by Fox 26.

As of now, the identities of the driver and the victims have not been disclosed.

The Houston Police Department along with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences have yet to respond to inquiries from YSL News.
